Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use (also referred to as our "Terms of Service"; together, the "Terms") form a binding agreement between you and tuPandas ("tuPandas", "we", "us", or "our") and govern your access to and use of the Narravo mobile application and related services (together, the "Service"). By downloading, installing, signing in to, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Please read Section 17 carefully — it limits our liability — and Section 20 explains how disputes are resolved. Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

2. The Service

Narravo is an AI voice reader and text-to-speech application. It reads written content aloud so you can listen instead of reading on a screen. With Narravo you can:

  • type or paste text, import PDF and Word (DOCX) documents, scan printed pages and images with text recognition (OCR), or add a link to a web article;
  • listen with natural-sounding AI voices in many languages, change the playback speed, and keep listening in the background;
  • read and listen to books from a built-in library of classic titles;
  • organise documents in folders, keep bookmarks and your reading position, set a daily listening goal, and see your listening statistics; and
  • download content for offline listening and, with an account, sync your library across devices.

Features, voices, supported file formats, and languages may change over time. We may add, change, or remove features at our discretion, and some features are available only with a paid subscription.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Narravo. By using the Service you represent that you meet that requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. Your account

When you first open Narravo, we create an anonymous account for you so the app works without registration. You can sign in with Google, Apple, or an email address and password to keep your account and, with Premium, sync your library across your devices.

  • You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
  • You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You may not share your account, sell access to it, or impersonate someone else.
  • You must notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
  • If you sign in with Apple or Google, your use of that account is also governed by that provider's terms. What we receive from these providers and how we use it is explained in our Privacy Policy.

5. Subscriptions & billing

Narravo offers free features and paid subscription plans ("Premium" or "Subscriptions"). Premium can include, for example, more documents, premium AI voices, higher listening limits, offline listening, and sync across devices. The features, price, and billing period of each plan are shown in the app before you buy.

  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
  • Payment. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. We do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Managing your subscription. You can manage and cancel Subscriptions in your device's account settings:
    • iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions
    • Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions
    Deleting the app or your Narravo account does not cancel a Subscription.
  • Restoring purchases. A Subscription is linked to the store account you bought it with. You can restore it on another device with "Restore Purchase" in the app.
  • Price changes. If we change a Subscription price, we will notify you in advance and give you the chance to cancel before the new price takes effect, in line with the platform's rules.
  • Usage limits. Free use has limits (for example on the number of documents, the voices available, and daily listening), and Premium is subject to reasonable fair-use limits (for example on weekly listening) that keep the Service reliable and prevent abuse. The app tells you when you reach a limit.
  • Taxes. Subscription prices may include or exclude taxes depending on your jurisdiction and the platform's policies.

6. Free trials & promotions

We may offer free trials or promotional pricing. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial, the Subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan at the standard price. Free trials may not be available to users who have previously redeemed a trial, and any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a Subscription, where the store allows this.

7. Cancellation & refunds

When you cancel, the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep Premium access until then. Refund requests for purchases made through Apple or Google are handled by the respective platform under its refund policy — for Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play, through your Google Play order history. We do not directly process refunds for store-billed Subscriptions.

Where a statutory right of withdrawal applies (for example, the EU 14-day withdrawal right or rights under the Turkish Consumer Protection Law No. 6502 and its Distance Contracts Regulation), you keep that right. By starting to use a Subscription immediately you may consent to begin performance, which can affect your right of withdrawal for digital content and services.

8. Your content & generated audio

"Input Content" means everything you type, paste, import, scan, or link to in the Service — text, files, photos of pages, web links — together with the text we extract from it. "Generated Audio" means the speech audio the Service produces from your Input Content or from books in our library.

  • Ownership of Input Content stays with you. You keep all rights to your Input Content. We do not claim ownership of it.
  • License you grant us. You grant tuPandas a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, transmit, process, and display your Input Content solely so we can operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service for you — for example, to extract text from a file, scan, or web page, to read it aloud, and to sync and back up your library. This license ends when you delete the Input Content, except for backups kept for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Your responsibility. You are responsible for your Input Content and for making sure you have the rights and permissions needed to use it with the Service.
  • Generated Audio is for private listening. You may use Generated Audio for your own personal, non-commercial listening. You may not publish, broadcast, distribute, or sell it, or use it in podcasts, videos, or advertising, unless we have agreed to that in writing.
  • Offline copies. Content you download for offline listening is for use inside the app and may stop being available if your Subscription ends or your account is deleted.
  • No training of public AI models. We do not use your Input Content or Generated Audio to train public or general-purpose AI models.

9. Documents, web pages & books

  • Copyrighted material. Most books, articles, and documents are protected by copyright. Narravo is designed to help you listen privately to material you are entitled to read — your own documents, material you have bought or licensed, or content that is freely available to you. Having a work read aloud for your own listening does not give you any right to share, publish, or sell the audio.
  • Web links. When you add a web link, the Service retrieves the page you chose and extracts its main text so it can be read aloud. Only add pages you are allowed to access, do not use the feature to get around paywalls, logins, or other access restrictions, and follow the website's own terms. Web content belongs to its owners; we do not check or endorse it.
  • Classic books. The built-in library contains classic works that we believe to be in the public domain or that we are otherwise allowed to offer. Copyright terms differ between countries, so a work that is in the public domain in one country may still be protected in another. You are responsible for making sure your use complies with the law where you live. We may add or remove titles at any time.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right (including privacy, voice-likeness, intellectual-property, and export laws).
  • Upload or process content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that incites violence.
  • Use the Service to make or distribute audio versions of books, articles, or other works you have no right to share, or to get around paywalls, digital rights management, or other access controls.
  • Use the voices to impersonate a real person, to mislead listeners about who is speaking, or to commit fraud (including voice-based scams or "deepfake" audio), or present Generated Audio as a recording of a real person.
  • Use Generated Audio or the voices to train, fine-tune, or benchmark other speech or AI models.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, modify, or create derivative works of the Service, or extract the underlying voice models, except where expressly permitted by law.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or interfere with or disrupt its operation.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service or to generate audio in bulk, except via official APIs (if any) and within their published limits.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or any part of it without our prior written consent.
  • Use the Service to send spam, phishing, malware, or any malicious code.

11. Voices, text recognition & accuracy

Narravo uses third-party neural text-to-speech technology (currently Microsoft Azure AI Speech) for its voices, a conversion service to extract text from files and web pages, and on-device text recognition to read scanned pages and images. All of this output is generated automatically.

  • Speech output may mispronounce words, misread numbers, or mishandle abbreviations. Text recognition may misread characters, skip text, or get the layout wrong, and web-page extraction may miss parts of a page or include unrelated text. Review the text before relying on it, and do not rely on the Service for legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or other important decisions.
  • Accessibility, not medical care. Narravo can make reading easier — for example for people with dyslexia, ADHD, low vision, or eye strain — but it is not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition and is not a substitute for professional advice or for assistive technology recommended to you.
  • Generating speech, converting files, and loading web pages need an internet connection; audio you have downloaded can be played offline. The voices available can vary by language and may change over time.
  • We may apply usage limits, fair-use rules, or rate limits to keep the Service reliable and to comply with our providers' terms.

12. Third-party services

The Service relies on, and may interoperate with, third-party services — for example Google and Apple for optional sign-in; Firebase (Google) for accounts, analytics, and crash reporting; Supabase for sync and storage; Modal for our conversion and speech servers; Microsoft Azure AI Speech for voices; Apple App Store, Google Play, and RevenueCat for subscriptions; Microsoft Clarity for session analytics; and Meta for marketing measurement. The full list is in our Privacy Policy. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services. We are not responsible for third-party services, and they may change or become unavailable.

13. Intellectual property

The Service and all software, design, logos, trademarks, voice catalog metadata, and other materials in it (other than Input Content, and other than public-domain works in the library) are owned by tuPandas or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal purposes in accordance with these Terms. No other rights are granted.

If you believe that content available through the Service infringes your copyright, please send a notice with (a) identification of the copyrighted work, (b) the location of the allegedly infringing content, (c) your contact information, (d) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, and (e) a statement that the information you provide is accurate, to [email protected].

14. Feedback

If you send us suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use them for any purpose, without obligation or compensation to you.

15. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account from inside the app or by contacting us — see "Deleting your account" in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel a Subscription; cancel it in your store account settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your account is inactive for an extended period, or if we are required to do so by law.
  • Upon termination, the rights granted to you in these Terms end and we may delete your Input Content and Generated Audio as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law).

16. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT TEXT RECOGNITION OR GENERATED AUDIO WILL BE ACCURATE, NATURAL, OR FIT FOR YOUR INTENDED USE.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE CONSUMER LAW (INCLUDING THE TURKISH CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW NO. 6502).

17. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TUPANDAS AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 50.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES OR LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW (INCLUDING LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, GROSS NEGLIGENCE, OR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE).

18. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless tuPandas and its affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, (b) your Input Content or your use of Generated Audio (including copyright, voice-likeness, defamation, or impersonation claims), or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.

19. App store terms

If you downloaded Narravo from the Apple App Store or Google Play, the store's own terms also apply to your download and purchases. For the Apple App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and tuPandas only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • tuPandas, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer-protection and privacy claims, and claims that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

20. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the mandatory consumer rules below, the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul, Türkiye will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.

If you are a consumer in Türkiye, you may bring a complaint before the Consumer Arbitration Committee (Tüketici Hakem Heyeti) or the Consumer Court at your place of residence or where the transaction took place, within the monetary limits set each year under Law No. 6502. If you are a consumer in the European Union or elsewhere, you keep the protections of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence and may bring claims in your local courts where those laws allow.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app, by email, or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page before it takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the change becomes effective means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service and delete your account. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
